On Friday, Kendra Scott teamed up with Silver and Black Give Back in a fundraising effort to give back to the youth in the San Antonio community.
A portion of the profits of all the jewelry sold that evening would be donated to SBGB. Who can say no to jewelry in the name of charity?
That evening I had the opportunity to mingle with the guests, meet some of the team up challenge members who consisted of inspiring young middle schoolers and high schoolers, and, of course, shop for jewelry!
The entire Kendra Scott jewelry collection was up for grabs! Pieces consisted of rings, bracelets, necklaces and earrings. They varied from simple and elegant, to bold statement pieces. All of the pieces included a variety of stones in a number of colours, patterns, shapes and opacity.
While I was in the store looking at the different pieces trying to decide what I wanted, there was a beautiful pair of simple silver earings that caught my attention. That was, until I discovered the jewelry bar! Located near the back of the store was a desk where you could build your own pieces! I decided to build my own bracelet and was able to choose everything from the silver setting, to the size and colours of each stone.
Sarah and Erica, the ladies who helped me, were so nice and friendly! They explained the whole process, were patient as I tried to make up my mind about what I wanted to create and then assembled the bracelet right in front of my eyes.
What is Sliver and Black Give Back?
So many of you may be wondering what exactly SBGB is and why I have been referencing it the past few blogs. Well SBGB is the non profit partner of Sports and Spurs Entertainment.
The mission of the program is to inspire and invest in the youth of San Antonio to be civically-minded leaders through service, sports and grants. The students usually work in partnership with Spurs and Sports Entertainment staff, coaches, players and the community.
Through their various programs, San Antonio youth have the opportunity to give back by empowering peers in their local communities and learn the power of teamwork through their Team Up Challenge and youth sports leagues. The Team Up Challenge provides funding for youth-led service projects that better the community by encouraging students to be civically-minded in partnership with schools and non-profits. Youth Sports leagues teach essential character traits and positive values through team work and competition in a fun and safe environment. Kendra Scott Charitable Work
Another reason I wanted to share about my experience on Friday evening is because I wanted to shed light on Kendra Scott. She is a business woman, mother, and philanthropist who knows the importance of charitable work. As a result, Kendra Scott stores partner with charities throughout the week in an effort to help raise funds for their respective foundations. Anywhere from 3-4 times a week if you walk into a Kendra Scott location and purchase a piece of jewelry, you're not only buying yourself a fabulous statement piece, but you are also playing a positive role in improving a persons life through a charitable organization. When you're buying jewelry that changes lives it's hard to feel guilty about buying an item... or three! To learn more about Kendra Scott check out www.kendrascott.com/kendra
Friday evening at Kendra Scott was a fun and successful night. Everyone, including myself, left with beautiful pieces of jewelry that they could rock fashionably and proudly knowing that the proceeds would be going towards making a difference in the San Antonio community through Silver and Black Give Back!
Thanks for stopping by and God bless!
